Ingredients:

Burgers:

1 clove garlic,
1 cup self raising flour,
1 egg,
3/4 cup milk,
1 tablespoon brandy,
1 1/2 tbs Parisian essence,
1 grated onion,
1 teaspoon salt,
1/4 teaspoon pepper,
500g minced topside steak,
1 tablespoon butter,
4 small potatoes,
2 small carrots,
1/4 cabbage.

Sauce:

1 tablespoon butter,
1 tablespoon plain flour,
1 tablespoon gravy maker,
1 1/2 cups milk,
1 130g mushrooms,
1 tablespoon brandy.

Method:

Burgers:

Crush garlic in bottom of mixing bowl, add sifted flour, add egg, gradually stir in milk, using a fork, add brandy Parisian essence, onion, salt and pepper.  Blend through the minced steak, stand for a while, stirring occasionally. Form into patties using BurgerMate. Heat butter in a pan until beginning to brown. Place patties in pan, cook until crispy brown on each side (6 to 7 minutes). Wrap in foil and leave in oven while preparing sauce and garnish. Peel and slice potatoes and fry in pan in which meat was cooked. Put carrots on to boil. Shred cabbage finely, soak in ice water and fry for 2-3 minutes, turning all the time.

Sauce:

Melt butter, add flour and gravy maker - cook for one minute. Add milk and stir until smooth gravy is obtained. Remove from heat and add mushrooms and brandy. Reheat then pour into gravy boat.
