Mango Chutney Hamburgers Submitted By: Ron

Ingredients:

1 beaten egg,
¼ cup fine dry bread crumbs,
¼ cup snipped fresh cilantro or parsley,
¼ cup finely chopped onion,
½ cup mango chutney (snip any large pieces),
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger,
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin,
1/8 teaspoon of salt,
1/8 teaspoon of pepper,
1 1/3 pound lean ground beef,
4 slices Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeno peppers,
4 hamburger buns, split toasted.
Sliced onion, sliced tomato, lettuce leaves (optional).

Directions:

1. In a medium mixing bowl combine beaten egg, bread crumbs, cilantro, onion, 1/4 cup of the chutney, 2 teaspoons of the ginger, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add ground beef; mix well. Shape meat mixture into patties using BurgerMate.

2. Grill patties on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 14 to 18 minutes of until done (160 degree F), turning once halgway through. Top with cheese slices. Grill, uncovered, about 2 minutes more or until cheese begins to melt.

3. In a small bowl stir together the remaining chutney and remaining ginger. Spread chutney mixture onto buns. Serve patties on buns. Serve with sliced onion, sliced tomato, and lettuce leaves, if desired.
