Japanese Hamburger with Tonkatsu Sauce Submitted By: Lum

Ingredients:

10 pcs : sesame buns,
250g : BEST FOODS Mayonnaise/LADY'S CHOICE Mayonnaise,
400g : iceberg lettuce, shredded.
2 : ripe tomatoes, sliced.
500ml : tonkatsu sauce.

Japanese Style Beef Patties:

1.25kg : beef, minced.
2 : onions, finely chopped.
100g : ginger, grated.
5 tbsp : sake (Japanese rice wine),
5 tbsp : Japanese light soya sauce,
2 pch : salt and freshly grounded black peppercorns, to taste.
100ml : BEST FOODS Soya Bean Oil/LADY'S CHOICE,
Soya Bean Oil, for frying.

Directions:

Japanese Style Beef Patties:

1. Mix the minced beef, grated ginger, chopped onions, sake and light soya sauce in a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

2. Mix well with hands until well combined. Shape into patties using BurgerMate.

3. Heat BEST FOODS Pure Soya Bean Oil/LADY'S CHOICE Pure Soya Bean Oil in pan over medium heat and fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side or until it browns and cooked.

4. Remove and keep warm.

Serve:

1. Slice the burger bun and spread with BEST FOODS Mayonnaise/LADY'S CHOICE Mayonnaise.

2. Lightly grill or pan-fry the bun till it turns golden brown.

3. Arrange some lettuce, Japanese patties and a slice of tomato onto each bun.

4. Spoon some tonkatsu sauce and cover with another bun.

5. Serve immediately with salad and pickled ginger.
