Beef Burgers with Fried Onion and Red Pepper Submitted By: Bert

Ingredients:

2 onions,
1 red pepper,
2 teaspoons chilli powder,
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder,
1 teaspoon fresh crushed black pepper,
1/2 teaspoon salt,
4 lean beef burgers,
4 tablespoons BERTOLLI olive oil,
1 teaspoon dried Herbes de Provence.

Directions:

Slice the onions and pepper in thin rings.  Mix the chilli powder with the cinnamon, pepper and salt. Dust the burgers with this spice mixture.  Heat the BERTOLLI olive oil in a frying pan and sauté the onions, herbs and pepper until the onions are translucent. Remove from pan and keep warm.  Form burger with BurgerMate. Fry the beef burgers for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.  Put the burgers on a plate and cover with the sautéed onion and pepper rings.  Serve with mixed salad and baked or sauté potatoes.
